In kid speak

There are several things that the boys say that crack me up on a daily basis. Some of my faves:

Grant likes to say (after throwing a ball): "NICE shop!" (aka shot)

Evan likes to say: "That's basgusting!" (aka disgusting)

We're still here!

Life has gotten busy, which means little time for blogging and lots of forgetting to take pictures. Nonetheless, the kids are alive and well. Here's proof:

Things Evan says

I'm not feeling good. [followed by fake coughs]

Look at my magic trick -- I can stand on one foot!

So, I want to be a ballerina. Quinn said that. [note to self: Evan needs to spend more time with boys, less time with girls]

I've got my heart set on Tess.

I'm going to marry on Tess. She's my princess.

Children's Museum

We were recently treated to a year membership (thank you!) to the Atlanta Children's Museum, "Imagine It!" and what a treat it has been! A few weekends ago, we went as a family on the weekend when it was too cold to do anything outdoors. The kids love it and since provides an alternative way to run out their energy, I love it too!

Snow much fun

We may not have 40" on the ground like DC, but we had a substantial snowfall this afternoon. Later in the afternoon, while the snow was still falling, we bundled up (Grant wearing snow boots, Evan wearing rain boots) and headed for the nearest hill. We had called around to the hardware stores to see if there were any sleds, but they sold out earlier in the morning. Turns out, we weren't the only ones anticipating the snow. So we gathered the best alternative options we could find: a garbage can lid, a trash bag and a cookie sheet. The trash bag and cookie sheet won, by far. But really, the boys had more fun throwing snowballs than anything else.

On a cold day, bring the sand box indoors

Well, not exactly sand per se; birdseed is a lot easier to clean up! This kept the boys entertained for almost a full hour! Only had to step in a couple of times to stop Grant from flinging birdseed at Evan -- I consider that a success.

Star Student

This week, Evan was chosen to be "Star Student" at preschool. He was the line leader, special helper and was asked to bring in a poster with pictures, a special toy and book. We (me) worked hard on his poster to capture some of the most important things in his 3.5 year old life: Family, hot dogs & beans, trains and drums.
