Back to school

This is Evan's first year in official Pre-K and Grant is back in Children's Morning Out. Yay! Both boys went happily off to their classrooms without so much as a wince. Evan will be going 5 days a week this year and Grant will go on Tuesdays and Thursdays, both from 9-1.

It's hard to get everyone to cooperate for pictures these days! Thankfully, Grandpa settled down after a few takes.

Into the imagination of Evan

This story was relayed to me first thing this morning.

"Mom, you know about vultures? They're really not good. The sneak out and dig in the dirt and eat people for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yeah. That's why they're not good. So we need to sneak out and get them first."

Brothers can hang out in their underwear

Recently, Evan has taken a particular liking to hanging around the house in only his underwear. When asked why, he responded, "Because I want to be just like Daddy."

Footnote: For the record, Daddy does not [typically] hang around the house in his underwear.

Almost that time again...

T minus 4 more days until Pre-K! This year, we've prepped with a new LL Bean backpack and lunch box and -- ready for this -- size 13 extra wide Stride Rites!

Wake surfing on Lake Lanier

Evan LOVED wake sufing... and wanted to do it again and again! Thanks to our friends Brandon and Michelle for a great day. And thanks especially for Brandon, who provided the shoulder ride on the wake surf board!

Line Creek Nature Preserve

The boys and I enjoyed a morning out at a local nature area. Unfortunately, it ended abruptly after Evan pushed Grant into the water. Oh well-- we'll try again next time!
