dog sitters

Slowly but surely, we're teaching the dogs to baby sit Evan. They aren't so good at diaper changes, but they're great about nap time!

Thought I'd also post some cute bath time shots. Unlike the earlier photo of his first bath at home, Evan now loves to be bathed.

Baby musings...

Even though most of his time is spent eating and sleeping, Evan has started to develop a distinctive little personality. Like I've said before, he has a very sweet disposition and is very easy going. Don't get me wrong though-- when he cries, he really lets go. And usually, it's because he's hungry-- don't mess with Evan when it's time to eat! Jason says that he gets that trait from me. You can be sure to find him with one or more fingers in his mouth when he's hungry, which keeps him satisfied for a few minutes.

As for his "easygoing-ness," Evan will lay in his crib (he doesn't sleep there yet, still in the bassinet) just listening to music and gazing at his toys. He stays content like that for at least 30 minutes, which is enough time for me to get things done around the house, eat lunch, etc. I've learned to be really efficient with a short amount of time to spare!

Last night Evan tried out the baby swing for the first time. He liked it... for a few minutes. And no, the swing is not on a dangerously high speed in this photo, it's just the angle of the shot.

I'm very excited about this photo, which shows off Evan's new belly button. His cord detached this past weekend (yick!) and revealed a cute little baby belly button. Like his shirt says, it's just perfect!

Father's Day!

Jason's first Father's Day was spent, unfortunately, recovering from a stomach bug. So, he and Evan enjoyed spending most of the day relaxing in the La-Z-boy chair. I, on the otherhand, spent the weekend caring for two babies!

Life with the baby is going very well. We all could use a little more sleep, but otherwise, it has been an easy adjustment. Evan is very easy going and pleasant. Below are some recent pics.

Our first official family pic...and more

Here's our first official family photo!

And some more pictures for your viewing pleasure...

Evan's first visit to the Dr.

Yesterday was Evan's first check-up at his pediatrician. We were pleased to find out that he gained 6 ounces! He now weighs 8.6 lbs and amazingly measured 21.5 inches. We're pretty sure the hospital mis-measured him when they recorded 19 inches, because if this boy has grown 2.5 inches in a week, we're in trouble! The rest of the report from the doctor confirms that our little boy is doing very well.

and the winner of the baby pool is....

Well, to be honest, no one had all of the information right. Everyone was way off on Evan's birth date. But the person who came closest was Uncle DJ (Jason's brother). Uncle DJ guessed 8 lbs even and a boy. As it turns out, DJ also weighed 8 lbs at birth. We will be sending out a "closest guess" prize to DJ. Evan suggested sending one of his diapers, which are always full of presents. Watch for a package DJ!

yep, you guessed it...

...more pictures! What else do you expect from new proud parents? These shots were taken by the Terreri grandparents--they are thrilled with their new baby grandson. Enjoy!

More pictures!

Sorry for the delay folks-- I know some of you have been waiting very patiently for pictures. It's just that every time I think I have a free moment, I'm needed again! Welcome to parenthood!

Welcome Baby Evan!

As I sit here typing one-handed, I am holding our new baby boy:

Hugh Evan Terreri
Born Monday, June 5
9:54 a.m.
8 lbs 0 oz 19 in

We were all very surprised about his weight-- the doctors predicted 7 lbs at the most! Labor and delivery was smooth-- well, as smooth as that process can go! ;) We arrived at the hospital around 10 p.m. on Sunday night and we are all back at home now and doing very well. Evan has a very sweet disposition (so far!) and is doing well with feeding, sleeping... and yes, pooping-- a lot!! I promise to post more details later. For now, here are some photos.

no baby yet....

For those wondering, or anxiously checking the site, Baby T is still very comfortable hanging out in his/her little apartment. I on the other hand am ready to send an eviction notice! I'm not too terribly uncomfortable, and am still sleeping very well, but I'm just really anxious to meet this baby!! I did receive some good news at my doctor's appt. this week-- I am already 3 cm dialated and 80% effaced. So, whenever labor does start, I'll be ahead of the game! The doc also determined that the baby is head-down and ready to go-- let's get this show on the road!

Just thought I'd give you all an update... stay tuned!
