Cute baby #2

He's still so cute!

Grant's newly revealed belly button.

As if to say "enough pictures! leave me alone!"

And let's not forget the original baby. He likes to ham it up and then run and see the preview of his picture on the digital camera screen.

Stuff your sorries in a sack

For the past month or so, we've been teaching Evan to apologize when he does something wrong. Lately, he's been saying "sorry" a lot. Sometimes, he even says sorry when he hasn't done anything at all. I tell him, "it's ok Evan, you don't have to be sorry--you didn't do anything wrong." Jason, however, has been telling me to bank them! He says we'll need them later! Anyway, it just made me think about the Seinfeld episode where George & Jerry are arguing:

Jerry: George, I'm sorry I slept with Nina.
George: You can stuff your sorries in a sack, mister!
Jerry: I wish you'd quit saying that!

NKOTB

For those of you who knew me around the age of 12, you know I was a huge New Kids on the Block fan. And in case you didn't know... they're back on tour. Mostly, the idea of them being back on tour is hilarious. But there's also a small part of me that's considering going to their concert when they come to Atlanta. Shhhh--don't tell anyone I said that.

Last week, they happened to be performing on the Today Show when Evan and I were watching. I SWEAR to you that I did not prompt Evan to watch and dance in front of the TV, as seen in the picture. I did, however, teach him to sing "woh-oh-oh-oh, hangin tough!" Jason was less than thrilled. But if our son likes NKOTB, who are we to censor his taste in music? We'll save that for the teenage years.

Update on the boys

I'm not sure how much you can really tell of a child's personality at only 14 days old, but I can tell you how Grant is different from Evan as a newborn. For one thing, he SLEEPS! Evan, who never missed a meal, was on the 1-2 hour feeding schedule and rarely slept 3, let alone 4, hours at a stretch. Grant however, is a sleepy baby and nurses in short 5-10 minute intervals and will sleep for 3-4 hours at a stretch. For the first week, I was waking him to eat at night! But now that I know he's gaining weight adequately, I'm letting that kid sleep! Other than that, Grant, like Evan, is a very easy baby and very sweet. I forgot how nice it is to hold a newborn. But it's also bittersweet, since holding a newborn makes your first child immediately seem so big and grown up. But Evan continues to make us laugh and I continue to relish in his new developments and growth. For example, he is now really starting to put complex sentences together--not surprising since he talks ALL THE TIME. He's also being a great big brother and recently has started talking to Grant in a high-pitched "baby speak" voice, I guess to imitate me. He tries to share his snacks with Grant, which is really sweet. I've tried to explain that Grant doesn't have teeth yet.

Ok, enough chit-chat. Here are some new photos.

Evan's favorite spot.

Wouldn't he make a cute little girl? This is as close as we're going to get.

Evan is hooked on the juice.

Yes, even the second child gets pictures

A few more shots to keep our fans happy....

At the hospital: Evan makes nice with his new brother.

First official family shot.

Grandma & Grandpa Terreri meet Grant for the first time.

Life back at home. We all are adjusting well to life with a newborn again. Evan has really fallen in love with his new brother. He checks on him frequently throughout the day and enjoys inspecting and observing his curious movements and noises.

Mom and her two boys.

Grandma Bonnie & Grandpa Donnie meet Grant, their fourth great-grandchild, all of which are boys!

Traditional first bath photo. I believe Evan reacted the same way.

Grandma Bonnie & Grandpa Donnie brought Evan a present to bring out the aspiring musician-- he loves his new "peeno"!

Hidden messages: take a close look at Evan's t-shirt.

Jason and I (and Evan!) want to especially thank Grandma & Grandpa Terreri for staying with and helping us during the first week of Grant's life. They helped the transition from one to two go very smoothly. We will all miss them (and their cooking, cleaning, errand running, child & dog entertaining, etc, etc, etc) VERY much in the weeks to come!

Welcome [finally] Grant Edward!

Finally, finally, finally, Grant Edward Terreri arrived on Saturday, May 3 at 9:47 pm. He is a happy and healthy baby at 8 lbs 13 oz and 20.5 inches. In what we are calling our "drive through delivery," Grant was born, after 8 minutes of pushing, only 2 hours after we checked into the hospital when I arrived at an amazing 7 cm dialated! Talk about your speedy deliveries-- Domino's can't even deliver a pizza in less than 30 minutes!

We are back home as of today and everyone is doing very well. Evan so far has only met Grant once at the hospital, and after a shakey start, he warmed up well and gave the baby kisses and was smiling and laughing. We're hoping the friendship continues...

I will post more later.... for now, a few pictures to keep you happy.

Last preggo pic, taken on 5/1.

New baby! Remember Evan's new baby shot?

Cute new baby shots.

Evan's first visit. Look at that face-- so sad!

Leaving the hospital today.
