A trip to the grocery store
[setting: in the car]
Me: We have to go to the grocery store, ok Evan? We need to buy some salad, some bananas, milk and eggs.
Evan: And we have to buy beer?
Me: No, sweetie. No beer. (because actually, we still have some left in the fridge from last weekend. and let's be honest, Mommy prefers red wine.)

A new blog...
I've finally done it. I started a new blog. This one, however, will not be filled with limitless pics of Evan & Grant. The new blog is my attempt at becoming a professional blogger; or, at least an amateur blogger who makes some $$ on the side.
The new blog, called repurposeful, is what they call a "niche" blog, and it takes issue with the larger subject of green living, and specifically, provides ideas for repurposing everyday items into something else just as useful. I plan to post regular (ie, every other day or so) articles on a variety of "repurposes," and if.... nay, when, the blog acquires readership, I hope to attract advertising.
Check it out! Leave a comment! E-mail me with suggestions!

Last stop: the DiSciullos
As our trip came to an end, we made one more stop to see our dear friends, the DiSciullos. Evan made a new friend in Jenna (because she had fun toys) and Nancy (because she had a real drum set).

We also visited with our friends the Poulins, but of course, forgot to take pictures! Thanks for letting us stop by guys!

Boys in NYC
During our trip to DC, we made a quick jaunt to NYC to visit Aunt Kim, Uncle Shane and new baby Sebastian (all of 2 months old). The three cousins (all! boys!) became acquainted and promised to spend many future years scheming and making mischief.
Apart from a beautifully cold snowfall (Evan's first time in the snow) and a plane crash less than a block from where we were staying, nothing else exciting happened.

A day at the museum
So, I'm either Mom of the Year or a glutton for punishment. I vote for the latter. I schlepped both of the boys, by myself, to downtown DC, one week before inauguration (read: TRAFFIC), to the Museum of Natural History. After finding great parking, realizing that I had no change to feed the meter, then finding change in the farthest corners of my car only to realize (after I fed the meter) that the meter was out of order.... we finally made it inside. I carried Grant around in the Ergo, Evan was in a stroller and all of us were bundled in winter gear. We were quite the site. Despite the fiasco getting there, we had a lot of fun.
Some funnies
A few funnies courtesy of Evan, The Entertainer:
Evan was making pretend food for us at DJ's house. He brought the "food" to DJ and we asked, "What did you make?" to which, Evan replied: "Dog food!" He made ice cream and cake for everyone else.
Evan played for a long time last night with "Unfle Nafan." He got so carried away with pretending that he sent Unfle Nafan into time out...."You go time out Unfle Nafan! You go time out, you not wistening, you say sowwy to Mom!"

Terreris on the move
We are currently on a 10 day-trip to DC-NYC-DC then back home again. On the itinerary are visits with: Nana, Grandpa Colin, Uncle Nathan, Aunt Rachel, Uncle DJ & Aunt Heather, Aunt Kim & Uncle Shane, new cousin Sebastian, and an assortment of friends in DC. Oh yeah, and Jason is speaking at a conference, which is the "real" reason for our trip. I can't promise that I'll post throughout the week, but I'll try.
Took a trip today to a farm near "Nana's" (my mom) house. Uncle Nathan ran Evan into the ground. Literally. Shortly before this shot, Evan face-planted into the gravel. No harm was done.

Grant was bundled into the Ergo carrier to keep Mommy warm!
In case you can't tell, it was c-o-l-d! (Thanks to cousin Ethan, Evan had a nice parka for the trip!)
We don't yet have any pics of Uncle DJ & Aunt Heather (who were nice enough to house us for several days), but below is evidence that Evan is wreaking havoc on their household... and their dog Bailey.

Hakuna Matata
Two things to read before viewing:
1. The bath tub water in this video looks murky because of some special bath fizzies that Evan received for Christmas... tonight's color was supposed to be orange. Instead it looks like Evan was soaking in a tub of iced tea.
2. This is a long video, but it gets better toward the end, so it's worth viewing all the way through.

That's what friends are for
On Saturday, I drove up to see my friend Heather (with the boys in tow) to surprise her for her 30th birthday. Despite getting almost no sleep on Saturday night (thank you, Grant), we had a great time catching up and watching our four beautiful children play together.

Why I don't like Cookie Monster
For at least a year now, Evan has been imitating cookie monster. Before he could really talk, he would sit in his high chair and fan his fingers in front of his mouth, making food fly in all directions. We used to think that he was simply playing with his food. But eventually, it dawned on us that he was imitating the signature Cookie Monster move. And when he learned to talk, he confirmed it and said: "Coosie Mosser!" So now, every single day, Jason and I say to Evan, "No Cookie Monster at the table," or "Why are you in time out?" To which Evan replies, "I no Coosie Moster at the table."
And that is why I don't like Cookie Monster.

And that is why I don't like Cookie Monster.

Just Say No.

2008 Year in Review
Thank goodness for blogs--how else would I ever remember all of the things that happened this in 2008?
Evan moved into a toddler bed. Many sleepless nights ensued.
Evan ate his first ice cream cone. He now knows the words "candy," "chocwat," and "something special" all too well.
I was pregnant. For many many weeks.
We all were very sick. For many many weeks.
Friends and family visited: the DiSciullos, the Rincons, the McDonalds, Grandparents (several of them).
Evan became potty trained. Remember "poo poo for suckers?"
Grant was born.... LATE! But since he was so stinkin cute, we forgave him.
NKOTB made a come back. Or at least attempted one.
We traveled to Florida, Hilton Head, DC, New York and Kentucky. (Please, stop drooling with envy.)
Evan enjoyed a "nakey" stint during summer pool hours.
The blog that you know and love--the very blog that you are now reading--was renamed "in the moment."
There was a period of several months where Evan ate, slept and dreamt "train table."
We had our house painted, replaced a garbage disposal, replaced our kitchen door, hung crown moulding, finished a bathroom, remodeled Evan's new room, bought a new couch, new TV, etc, etc, etc.
Evan and Grant became brothers.
As babies do, Grant grew and grew--new teeth, crawling, solid foods....
Grant became my little thumb sucker.
Evan had his first trick-or-treat experience.
We welcomed new cousin, Baby Sebastian, to the family.
In "Rock the Vote 2008," you decided that Grant looks more like his mommy.
Evan discovered his passion for dancing and became even more impassioned with singing and music.
Evan & Grant shared many moments under the train table.
Evan learned to bowl.
I rekindled my passion for crafts.
Bullit scared us all very much with a spinal injury, but thankfully, is recovering very well.
We all had a wonderful Christmas.
~ The End. ~

Santa came!
The calm before the storm. (see the boys' stockings to the far right? the tail end of my handmade Martha streak.)
Pre-Christmas fun
Santa's elves left new pajamas for everyone on Christmas Eve.

Who IS this boy? Is it just me, or does this picture look as if Grant has aged about 10 years?

Annual cookie decorating... at least one of us took the task seriously.

I take that back; Evan took the job of eating cookies very seriously.

Can you guess which cookies Evan decorated?
