Too busy!

For those of you only looking for pictures, this won't be your favorite post. Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but it's been busy 'round here! In a nutshell...

Pre-school for Evan and Morning Out for Grant, which means... making lunches, having clean (and presentable) clothes, bringing in snacks, filling out forms and Scholastic book orders (can't believe I get to do that again--love it!)

Kids are home with me (and only me) now three. full. days. per week, which means... activities, arranging naps, playing referee, art time, library time, park time, errands with kids-in-tow, lunches to make, snacks to hand out--and lots and lots of coffee.

Work, work and more freelance work, which means... late nights, early mornings and fading brain cells.

Training again for a 15K race, which means... struggling to fit in at least 3 runs a week.

Oh yeah, and then there's the boring day-to-day of dinners and house work (which lags waaay behind). But you get the general picture, right?

We did take the time this past weekend to take a nice trip to Hilton Head to see G&G Terreri and Uncle DJ, Aunt Heather and new baby Connor. It was a great weekend-- the weather was beautiful! Wish we could still be there! Pictures to come...

Cara,
Its only just begun, wait until you reach my age, you never stop, its on and on and on and on. However, it is a blessing to be able to be so very active. Keep up the good work!
Love you
Aunt Nellie

It's when I feel like this that my mom says, "You should find a neighborhood teenager to come over and play with [fill in the name of your child/children] for an hour in the afternoon. You can use the time to make dinner or fold the laundry or stare at the wall - whichever you need most." Do you have any young teenagers who could help? They don't need to be full-on babysitters, just someone to play referee.

OK here's my tip for getting runs in: JOIN A GYM! The treadmill sucks, I will admit, but if you're training it's way too hard to get everything in while pushing a double jogger and some mornings/evenings you're just way too tired. Plus then the kids are entertained. My kids LOVE our gym. Do you have a Lifetime out there?

I just do my 4-6 milers at the gym and then my long runs on Saturday mornings. I promise you'll love it!

All I can say is I am glad to be a Grandma and no longer raising little ones! Haha! I just don't have it in me anymore, even for teens! I love them and send them HOME! ahhhh! You just made me very tired! :)
