The beginning of the end
Oh how I have dreaded this day. Grant can reach the train table. And play with the trains. (Evan's trains.) And disassemble the train tracks. (The train tracks that Daddy spent so long putting together.)

A weekend with grandparents
Because we are fortunate to live close enough, we took a quick trip this past weekend to Hilton Head to see G&G Terreri. The weather was awful, but the company and entertainment for the kids was a blessing.
Papa reintroduced the harmonica to Evan. Yes, we took one of these beauties home with us (Papa was kind enough to ask me permission. I said yes, in one of those "what was I thinking?" moments.)

News from the edge
("the edge" being the brink of insanity that I'm often perched upon)
Grant
....is pulling up on things! In his crib, onto the Roomba, and unfortunately, onto Evan's chair (that one was short lived). Grant fall down go boom. In other news, he's also clapping his hands, even on request! He's eating all kinds of things and in a few short months, he'll be weaned and onto drinking milk. *Sniffle.*
Evan
...is becoming so grown up. Here are a few of his catch phrases:
"Don't worry about me Mom." (Done.)
"I can't like that." (in response to dinner)
"More fun and games with us at PBS Kids and pbskids.org." (I kid you not. Reason #132 not to let your children watch television.)

Eat Grant, eat!
Grant's 9 mo. appointment at the doctor yesterday revealed that he is in the 60th percentile for length, 80th percentile for head circ. and......(are you ready for this?) 4th percentile for weight!! He is officially a P-nut! The dr. of course said everything is fine and don't worry about the percentages, but it's really hard not to gasp after having another child who has always been near or over 100% for his age!
We will now be feeding Grant a cup of butter at each meal.

A trip to the grocery store
[setting: in the car]
Me: We have to go to the grocery store, ok Evan? We need to buy some salad, some bananas, milk and eggs.
Evan: And we have to buy beer?
Me: No, sweetie. No beer. (because actually, we still have some left in the fridge from last weekend. and let's be honest, Mommy prefers red wine.)

A new blog...
I've finally done it. I started a new blog. This one, however, will not be filled with limitless pics of Evan & Grant. The new blog is my attempt at becoming a professional blogger; or, at least an amateur blogger who makes some $$ on the side.
The new blog, called repurposeful, is what they call a "niche" blog, and it takes issue with the larger subject of green living, and specifically, provides ideas for repurposing everyday items into something else just as useful. I plan to post regular (ie, every other day or so) articles on a variety of "repurposes," and if.... nay, when, the blog acquires readership, I hope to attract advertising.
Check it out! Leave a comment! E-mail me with suggestions!

Last stop: the DiSciullos
As our trip came to an end, we made one more stop to see our dear friends, the DiSciullos. Evan made a new friend in Jenna (because she had fun toys) and Nancy (because she had a real drum set).

We also visited with our friends the Poulins, but of course, forgot to take pictures! Thanks for letting us stop by guys!

Boys in NYC
During our trip to DC, we made a quick jaunt to NYC to visit Aunt Kim, Uncle Shane and new baby Sebastian (all of 2 months old). The three cousins (all! boys!) became acquainted and promised to spend many future years scheming and making mischief.
Apart from a beautifully cold snowfall (Evan's first time in the snow) and a plane crash less than a block from where we were staying, nothing else exciting happened.

A day at the museum
So, I'm either Mom of the Year or a glutton for punishment. I vote for the latter. I schlepped both of the boys, by myself, to downtown DC, one week before inauguration (read: TRAFFIC), to the Museum of Natural History. After finding great parking, realizing that I had no change to feed the meter, then finding change in the farthest corners of my car only to realize (after I fed the meter) that the meter was out of order.... we finally made it inside. I carried Grant around in the Ergo, Evan was in a stroller and all of us were bundled in winter gear. We were quite the site. Despite the fiasco getting there, we had a lot of fun.
